Since 2009, the Good Web Guide selects websites from across the internet and nominates them for the award of best website for that year. There is one winner for each sector (which we will explore later on), and an awards reception is held in London at the end of November, where the winners are announced. Here, we will take a more detailed look at the Good Web Guide Awards as well as some of the nominees in the finance section.
Being Selected for Shortlisting
It’s no easy task getting into the Good Web Guide, and thousands of websites are listed and reviewed within it. From those, nominees are selected each year and placed on a list for the public to view as they anticipate the announcement of the winner.
Every website is carefully scrutinised before being placed in the guide and the process is highly selective, with the majority of applicants being rejected. So if you make it not only into the guide, but also the shortlist for the Good Web Guide Awards, you know you are on the right track.

The 2016 Awards Reception
Every year, the awards reception is held, and this year it will take place on the 21st of November from 18:30 to 20:30. It will be held on the first floor of the beautiful Royal Institution of Great Britain in London.
While it is sure to be a fun and relaxed evening, it also offers the opportunity to connect with other entrepreneurs and businesses owners, presenting a unique networking opportunity. Tickets are only £30, and a selection of canapes and drinks will be provided.
Website of the Year: Finance Section

There are two other entries for the website of the year award in the finance section. The first of these is currency broker Berry FX. An online platform that was made for currency conversion and international money transfers, it gives fixed rates to overseas clients at no additional cost. With a transparent and friendly service, Berry FX are at the top of their game.
Pandle is the second of the last two nominees for website of the year. This cloud based accounting software is free and incredibly easy to use. The reason for this being that it was made with the average person in mind. Personal accounting is no easy task after all. With focus on small businesses and sole traders, it has helped a lot of people manage their account with no hassle.
The Good Website Guide Awards is a fantastic event that gathers together some of the best websites on the internet to determine which will be named the website of the year in each section.
